Terms of Service
Last updated: March 10, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Potforge website at potforge.com and the Potforge Studio web application (together, the "Service"), operated by Potforge ("we", "us", "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
Potforge Studio is a browser-based 3D design tool that allows users to create parametric plant pots and planters. The Service generates 3D geometry in real time and provides the ability to export design files (STL, 3MF) for 3D printing.
The Service is currently in a pre-launch beta phase. During beta, access to the design studio is limited to users who have been granted beta access via a beta code. Features, availability, and pricing are subject to change before and after public launch.
The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated, modified, or interrupted at any time without prior notice.
2. Accounts
2.1 Account Creation
To access certain features (saving projects, downloading files), you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure.
2.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at support@potforge.com.
2.3 Account Tiers
The Service offers different access tiers:
- Free — full access to design tools and real-time 3D preview. Save up to 5 projects. STL and 3MF downloads are not included.
- Pro — everything in Free, plus unlimited STL and 3MF downloads, save up to 200 projects, 3MF files with printer presets. Intended for personal, non-commercial use.
- Pro Commercial — everything in Pro, plus a commercial use license that permits selling prints and files made with the Service, and priority support.
Features, limits, and pricing for each tier may change with reasonable notice to affected users. Pricing for Pro and Pro Commercial tiers will be announced before public launch.
2.4 Beta Access
During the pre-launch beta phase, access to Potforge Studio requires a beta access code. Beta codes are issued at our sole discretion and may be revoked at any time. Beta access is separate from account tiers — a beta user's tier determines which features (such as downloads) are available.
Beta users acknowledge that the Service may contain bugs, incomplete features, or instability. We appreciate feedback from beta users to help improve the Service before public launch.
2.5 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Account Settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
3. Intellectual Property
3.1 Your Designs
You own your designs. Any pot designs, configurations, and exported files you create using the Service are your intellectual property. We claim no ownership or rights over the designs you create.
You grant us a limited license to store and process your saved designs solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g., saving to your account, generating export files, displaying thumbnails).
3.2 Our Software
The Potforge software, including its source code, algorithms, user interface, and visual design, is owned by Potforge and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or distribute the software or any part of it.
3.3 Third-Party Components
The Service incorporates open-source libraries (such as Three.js and manifold-3d) which are subject to their own licenses. These licenses are respected and do not affect your rights to your designs.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or connected networks.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service without written permission.
- Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on third-party rights.
5. Payments & Subscriptions
Certain features require a paid subscription. Payment terms will be clearly displayed before purchase. Pricing for paid tiers will be announced before public launch.
- Pro tier — grants access to STL and 3MF downloads and increased project storage, for personal, non-commercial use.
- Pro Commercial tier — grants all Pro features plus a commercial use license. This license permits you to sell physical prints and digital files created with the Service.
- Refunds — we offer refunds within 14 days of purchase if you have not used download features. Contact support@potforge.com for refund requests.
We reserve the right to change pricing for future purchases. Existing purchases will not be affected by price changes.
6. Commercial Use
Designs created with Potforge are your intellectual property (see Section 3.1). However, the right to use the Service for commercial purposes — including selling 3D-printed pots, selling exported design files, or using designs in commercial products — requires a Pro Commercial subscription.
Free and Pro tier users may use their designs for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This includes printing pots for yourself, friends, and family, but does not include selling prints or files.
If you are uncertain whether your intended use qualifies as commercial, please contact us at support@potforge.com.
7. Export Files & 3D Printing
The Service generates STL and 3MF files based on the parameters you set. While we strive for accuracy:
- We do not guarantee that exported files will be suitable for all 3D printers or slicing software.
- You are responsible for verifying that your designs are structurally sound and appropriate for your intended use before printing.
- We are not liable for any printing failures, material waste, or damage resulting from use of exported files.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable.
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Potforge and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Potforge from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by the courts of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions of your local law.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
